Laddie John Dill – Untitled “Bird” Wall Sculpture. Mixed Media (Wood, Glass, Minerals, Metal)
An original mixed media wall sculpture by Laddie John Dill (American, b. 1943), a leading figure in the Light and Space movement that emerged in Southern California during the 1960s and 1970s. This smaller yet striking work combines wood, glass, minerals, and metal into a dynamic, abstract form reminiscent of Dill’s signature wall sculptures.
The piece was previously hung in a private estate and was purchased directly from the artist, making it a rare and collectible example of his work in mixed media. Dill is internationally recognized for his innovative use of material, light, and spatial exploration. A native of Southern California and graduate of the Chouinard Art Institute (now CalArts), his work is held in the permanent collections of LACMA, MoMA, and the Smithsonian, among others.
