A powerful and elegant large-scale wall sculpture by Laddie John Dill (American, b. 1943), composed of three separate panels in concrete, glass, and wood. From Dill’s signature “bird” series, this triptych exemplifies the sweeping forms and interplay of industrial materials that have defined his sculptural practice across five decades. Though unsigned, the work is clearly attributable to Dill and represents an excellent example of his mature sculptural language.

Dill is a foundational figure in the California Light and Space and Finish Fetish movements. His innovative use of concrete, glass, aluminum, and other elemental materials is held in the permanent collections of LACMA, MOCA, and the Smithsonian, among others.
