A substantial original mixed media wall sculpture by Laddie John Dill (American, b. 1943), a leading figure in the Light and Space movement that emerged in Southern California during the 1960s and 1970s. Part of Dill’s distinctive “bird” wall sculpture series, this large-scale work features plywood, glass, concrete, and other industrial materials assembled into a dynamic, abstract avian form.

This piece was acquired directly from the artist and hung in an Orange County estate — a provenance that speaks to its quality and authenticity. Dill’s work is recognized internationally for its innovative use of material, light, and space. A native of Southern California and graduate of the Chouinard Art Institute (now CalArts), his work is held in the permanent collections of LACMA, MoMA, and the Smithsonian, among others.
