About the Work
Anacin II belongs to a small group of experimental lithographs that translate Alexander's fascination with perception, atmosphere, color, and mediated imagery into print form. The composition evokes the glow of an electronic screen while simultaneously suggesting a landscape dissolved by heat, distance, and memory — a visual ambiguity that became one of Alexander's defining artistic achievements. Printed on Kromekote paper to maximize luminosity, the work's reflective surface creates an effect closely related to the artist's celebrated cast-resin sculptures and environmental works.
About the B.A.T. Impression
The Bon a Tirer (B.A.T.) is the master approval print reviewed and approved by both artist and printer before production of the numbered edition. Such impressions are substantially scarcer than standard edition examples and are highly sought after by advanced collectors of important postwar prints.
Provenance
From the personal collection of Jean Milant, founder of Cirrus Editions, Los Angeles - one of the most influential publishers in contemporary American printmaking. Through Cirrus, Milant collaborated with many of the most important artists working in Southern California during the second half of the twentieth century.

About the Artist
Peter Alexander (1939-2020) was a founding figure of the California Light and Space movement. His work resides in the collections of MoMA (New York), LACMA, the Whitney Museum of American Art, SFMoMA, the National Gallery of Art, the Norton Simon Museum, and numerous international museums.
