Born in Los Angeles, Peter Alexander (1939–2020) became a leading figure in the California Light and Space and Finish Fetish movements. Celebrated for his luminous resin sculptures and evocative cityscapes of Los Angeles, his work has been exhibited internationally at LACMA, MoMA (New York), SFMoMA, and the Centre Pompidou, and is held in major collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Getty Museum, and the Walker Art Center.
